An early start in the music business has been the key to the success of this young hit-maker. Richard Rinaudo, also referred to as “DJ Rich” by his peers and close music industry associates has been graduating through the ranks of the Australian Music Industry for the past 20 years.

In the early 90’s DJ Rich began working at Independent record label ‘Colossal Records’ as a warehouse hand, preparing orders and organising the despatch of records to over 2000 accounts nationwide. Ambition and passion for the record business were key motivators and DJ Rich moved very quickly from strapping boxes to becoming the music industries youngest ever sales executive at age 21. During this time at Colossal, DJ Rich was part of the team that released a string of dance singles including the infamous F.C.B - Excalibur, a dance remix of Carl Orff’s famous piece 'Carmina Burana'. It went to number 1 on the ARIA dance singles charts, providing the sweet feeling of success for DJ Rich and the Colossal team.

Having had a taste of chart success, Richard took major steps and created his own label and moved into the roles of music production, licensing and remixing. His first label “Explosive Music Australia” had major successes in the dance music genre, enabling DJ Rich to work very closely with international dance music labels as well as international DJ’s and remix producers. In 1998, Richard’s new label “Universal Sounds of Australia” aka USA Records released the chart topping remix of Blue Zone’s 80s classic "Jackie". Knowing that the song was ripe for a remix to launch upon the emerging dance scene in Australia, DJ Rich entered into the studio with an unknown teen vocalist and the resulting release, credited under the name BZ featuring JOANNE, was number 1 on the Australian national ARIA chart, sold 280,000 singles, and received the ARIA for the highest selling single of that year.

Following a successful string of releases for his record labels through the newly emerging distribution network 'SHOCK' Records, (Aust) Richard released the first production signed to the then newly formed Star Music which he produced with ex-label and studio partner Paul L. Wiltshire. The single by emerging Australian artist LORENZO was called 'Ti Amo' and was a pop dance remake of the 1978 classic. The record received massive radio support in Australia and inevitably launched the career of the musical theatre tenor that performed the record.

In 2001 Richard Rinaudo & Paul L. Wiltshire re-united under a new company banner as part of a 4 artist production deal in a joint venture with the Mushroom Group of Companies headed by Australian Music Industry Mogul, Michael Gudinski. The company formed to house this production deal was symbolically called 'New World Records'. Included as partners in the New World company were celebrity photographer 'Shane Monopoli' and the legendary voice of 'COUNTDOWN' and Australian radio icon 'Gavin Wood'. The first artist released by this label was a 16 year pop diva 'Tali'.

A career in music production has seen Richard push forward to become a new leader in the emerging Australian music industry. Passion and motivation to discover and work with fresh talent are the drivers that provoke Richard to make hits each new day in the studio. As the Executive Producer at Star Music's label studio and the Label Director of all business affairs, Richard Rinaudo continues to be the driving force that pushes the Star Music Group of Companies into the next decade.
